Each fragment of a work evolves, settles into a preferred place. WHEN JUNK BECOME WORKS OF ART Objects man wear out and throw away in the sea, which are later regenerated by the sea thus given back, often end up on a shore, abandoned….until an artist come across them and give them a new life by turning them into flowers, fish and bodies. Metissage “Tu Come nessuno” / Piazza San Marco / Milano

MÈTISSAGE An alternative exhibit route on the works of Marillina Fortuna's Junk collection, will take place in the showroom "Tu.Come nessuno." at Piazza San Marco 1, Milan, on April the 22nd 2009, on the occasion of Salone del mobile/ Euroluce 2009. The textiles used for these works of art, originally scrap-material from the production of Galli/Orizzonti, add colour and life, on the inside of the exhibition, to some of the new works and installations exhibited on recycling panels which in a play of contrast and harmony represents samples of various material and colour in continuous change.   ...

Junk Collection IN DIVENIRE / Genova / 2008

Between March 14 and March 31 2008, Loggia dei Mercanti in Genoa hosts the art exhibition IN DIVENIRE (Junk Collection), staged by Marillina Fortuna. It features medium and large size sculptures, installations and works, Made entirely from scrap collected along sandy shores: fragments, plastic and oxidized metal objects, wooden pieces, ropes, polished glass, as put together naturally and ironically, to revive something dirty, accidentally swallowed up by the sea.
